Hello, I am a 29-year-old Christian Pentecostal, American female and an overseas resident of India. Fat shaming is never right.

Fatphobia is wrong. I was performing with Arya Dance Academy for almost six years continuously, since 2015, and it was never my intention to join in the first place. The clothing for performances was inappropriate. The clothing of the last performance I was forced to do, consisted of just a red crop top which was an Indian size large.

I'm not sure the exact size but it was so painful. I was forced to fit into the crop top, and I always had to wear spanks because there was no other way to fit into the performance outfits. The mandatory item added item for the performance was only a black pair of leggings which I brought from home, something that I wear under a skirt or dress. Arya Dance Academy International is not helpful in cultivating a body-positive behavior in students.

The supplies are limited, and they are forcing religion on students, like me, who don't want to preform at Hindu temples, Hindu religious events, and dance to Hindu music like "ganna pappa moria". These behaviors are unacceptable for me, my family, the other members, and the other community members alike.

I wish to never be a part of any Hindu events. God bless.

Unable to get a refund even after dropping out of classes

Arya Dance takes automatic payments from the customer's credit card and does not provide a refund if the child is not attending the classes. They say it's the company policy. Also, you never get to talk to anyone on the phone number they provide for the accounts. You just get one sentenced e-mails blaming it on the company policy. Their website does not provide any contact information either to allow us to talk to a person. It's a rip-off. They are also way overpriced compared to other Bollywood dance lessons.

We spoke with Priya in NJ office 2 wks ago and she promised she will send us the check that day , but all lies . No check has come yet .

We had signed up our child as early bird in June 2020 for fall classes and paid the entire fee for the fall semester . Arya promised to refund the entire fee if we chose to withdraw our child after first dance lesson in fall . We decided to withdraw due to Covid 19 pandemic and called Arya and they said we will get our refund in 6 weeks and it now December 2020 and arya is not returning our phone calls . We have left them several messages . This is a big fraud company . We made a huge mistake and have lost our money and it is not a small amount .

No one answers the phone or return your phone calls after leaving multiple messages on their voice mail . No one from Arya NJ office responds back to your emails . We have been trying for 4 months but no luck. Cant believe this big international dance company operates like this by stealing your money . Its a shame !!!!

We paid for three months aa their was a promotion going on to join. In the second month, they changed their location which was 20 miles from our place and not feasible for us to travel. The teacher said we could apply for the refund as they changed the location. We emailed multiple times with no response on email. We even called three times and the last conversation was that the refund will be issued in 2 weeks. We are in 5th month and nobody responds, even the phone number we have is out of service. Horrible customer service and you don't take anybody money like that. I would have given minus stars if that was an option

Arya Dance Academy - Dont waste your money

This is from Illinois where they have not refunded the money for one session for the last 6months. They first advertise that the student can register and pay fees upfront and then after class 1 can fill the drop out form to get full refund if they don't want to continue. Good flexibility provided you would think. But its just a scam to have you pay upfront and then keep begging for your money. I never attended any class and has been calling them to return my money and every time they have different excuse like the checks will be issue in the order of location, when is chicago location? in 1-2 months checks should be received, nothing happens then after 2 months you call, you simply get their voicemail. no way to talk to the management anyhow. They simply want the customer to forget about the money. Pathetic way fo treatin he customers.

Poor customer service, pathetic management. Just interested in taking money. Drop form is a trap to get students to pay first and then cancel the locations and keep following up for refund. It has been 6 months and no refund but excuses like they are processing the refunds today, they are sending the checks instead etc.

Miss Rupal- $720 need to be sent to me through Check, Arya is not giving me my this $ from past one year. NO ONE Is responding to my email, phone call with timeline when I will receive $720 check. I called and emailed to your staff/team from many months and no help received. As noted on your Arya website contact 973-402-**** Office Hours Monday to Friday 10am – 7pm Voice messages will be returned within 1 business day – THIS Service Level Agreement (SLA) 1 business day and many other terms noted are not following by your company. Please return my $720 through check ASAP. On November 19 2019 Priya from Arya informed me my refund check is in process. Other organizations all staff work as a team to resolve customers issues like this including instructors, and admin staff etc. but Arya is lacking of this. Sorry to say Arya may be a big organization but need to improve with customer service. From past one year Arya need to refund me $720, they are not refunding my money back.

My daughter has been a student at Arya since 2017 She helped for 70 hours with the junior students As a high school student it would benefit her if arya could give her a letter saying she volunteered for those hours She worked really hard and we don’t want that efforts to go wasted We did NOT asking for any money here All we want is a letter saying she volunteered as a dancer to help out I have been requesting this for quite some time( 3 months) and no one in Arya is helping out They don’t answer their phone or return calls. If you send emails there are no responses They will reach out to you if they want money Otherwise they don’t do anything A very unprofessional and disorganized company

After getting my $720 check, I am planning to remove my Arya online account through your website and remove my credit card in that account since seeing many scary reviews on Arya how Arya keep billing customers credit cards even though their kids were not continuing Arya classes.
