There was a big competition in NJ this past weekend. My daughter was a part of a school that won 1st place at the competition.

Arya had won 2nd place. When they won, it was celebrated as if the teachers won rather than the students. This is about the kids, it's not about the choreographers and the school. More importantly, when my daughters team won 1st place, two men or boys shall I say, dressed in Arya clothes jumped around on stage exposing their undergarments.

It was very unprofessional and made the organization look horrible. I'm pretty sure they were behaving like this to celebrate the loss of a competing school. That is unacceptable. All this happened in the junior category.

In the senior category, arya placed 2nd again. Their competitor did not place. As an audience member I can honestly say that arya did not deserve 2nd place. Their dance was haphazardly put together and it showed.

As the "biggest" South Asian dance school, I wish they had some more class, poise, and most of all sportsmanship. Not sure how I would feel about sending my daughters to a school that lacks class.

I believe you are talking about Naya Andaz in NJ. My daughter was in the senior category and try won 3rd place.

I also saw the behavior of the Arya "boys". What kind of an example are you setting for the students at your school. My husband and I were disgusted by thei behavior. I'm not sure how arya even placed in the senior category.

Didnt think their dance was good at all. I was expecting the senior category to be Nritya, Aum, and Satrangi. Feel like these competitions are becoming more and more politics driven.

Money can buy you a lot but definitely won't buy you class.
