Arya Dance Academy - Kathak classes - thumbs down, Recital - double down, Worst communication
I joined my daughter this year. They have two annual performances.
One is the Gala and the other is the recital. Gala was okay. Recital - A total NO. Special treatment is given to kids of anchors, to internal peeps.
Their kids are placed in the center with a different costume which makes the rest of the kids feel as if they are side dancers. And they change the venue of the classes at a very short notice for the rest of the year. We are told the child must learn some classical dance or we have to enroll in Kathak. we enrolled in kathak (extra fee) but till the Gala is done, kathak time is allotted for Gala practice.
Same with Recital too. And they collect the last month fee in advance. That is when most of the kids leave to India or for summer vacations. No kids in many classes but fee still paid.
Parents forget to withdraw kids ahead and you lose a month's fee. The list could go on and on...I am pulling out my daughter.
As they are the largest organisation, they are monopoly in the market. Planning to try other schools around.
Arya Dance Academy Cons: Treatment with customers.

I had similar issues when my daughter was enrolled in New Jersey for class. Money is their biggest priority and lots of favoritism!
Such a shame because they could really spread the art of Indian dance well! This year I moved over to another dance school in New Jersey and I couldnโt be happier!
There are great dance schools in NJ if thatโs where you are. AUM has been great for my daughter and I both.
